Communication with this establishment was the 1st issue, vague and far between. I was told I would take him home on Sunday, finally on Friday I reach for a time, and I got an email from Happy Days. They asked for a video of every room in my house I question the need, I had my veterinarian references checked, and they were positive. She said really just the yard, so I send a link where I had formerly listed the house for rent. Every room and the yard. Denied. I was very surprised since she said "really just the yard" Not the first go round with harsh and disappointing shelters, I will use human society I guess. Love dogs, had all them my life, I am sad. My Lulu crossed the rainbow bridge on 11.11.24, took a year to be ready for Teddy, that was his name, oh well. Good folks.

I completed application for a female companion for my pomeranian/ yorkie mixed male. A woman reached out to me, then decided, she would not give up her dog citing the dog had been abused don't like basements?!! When I completed my original app.I stated when we had to leave home, for a couple if hrs for errands , doctors appt's. My dog was placed in basement with his food/ water..also he has a 2nd bed..until we arrive back home..If it is too cold outside for him or his hip hurts him..he using basement to" potty" He has never been shut off from family!! And he has been left with other family members if we left town, and he couldn't come.. I was up front and did not omit anything..Yet, when I had gotten prepared to get my dog a friend. After calling me, while I was trying to make certain I had her location, the woman, brings up the dog not liking to be placed in a basement ..then say she'll keep her. People can change their minds. What I didn't like? The dog wouldve been with my dog , who is nuture, up in age but spunky still. She would not have been alone! This woman, built up my hope, playing games and wasting my time. I adopted my dog from Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue and am beyond happy with my experience. After viewing pets posted for adoption on their website, fill out the form provided to inquire about a specific pet, and someone from Happy Days will reply. Because all pets are fostered in homes, you will know their basic health status and behaviors before signing an adoption agreement. And the foster will know exactly what you are looking for in a pet, as well as verify existing vet records to assure good follow-through of care after adoption. Happy Days picks the best fit for the dog (or cat). In my case I wanted an older dog and specific breed. And the dog I was introduced to clearly picked me.

We adopted a dog from this organization approximately 9 years ago. Yes, they were very picky. Yes they were very thorough. But that's EXACTLY what you WANT in a rescue organization! The volunteers we dealt with were experienced, asked all the right questions and made sure that we were a good fit for our potential adoption. They needed to know we financially ready for unexpected medical bills, the cost of food and upkeep, a fenced yard, etc. These are all real considerations, and if you aren't 100% in then don't adopt. Pets are an expense, period. If you read other reviews, recognize that unqualified people are complaining that they didn't know a dog had to be on a leash or it would run away, then maybe these people were not a good fit for pet ownership??? My experience was outstanding and I appreciate them checking us out so thoroughly before allowing adoption of our wonderful companion. I continue to donate to this organization and applaud all their volunteers. Thanks for being choosy with your adopters. 5 stars.

Terrible. Just plan terrible and disrespectful. My brother and father adopted dog. Within the first few hours of having rescue the dog slipped off its collar during walk. No one stated dog needed harness for walks or that it was a flight risk. They had a harness but did not think it was necessary. The rescue was notified immediately. Unfortunately, when the rescue did capture the dog they did not inform my Dad or brother. They both were still searching for dog and unbeknownst to them the dog was in safe hands. They have refused to answer calls and communicate in any way. They still have my Fathers $300 check. This dog was to give my 90yr old father some companionship. If anything it has caused him alot of undue stress. Never in his life has he been treated this bad.
